Why EBI:

Dresden Generating Station was looking for a contractor to partner with on their Unit 2 non-seg bus duct maintenance. We were called to disconnect, disassemble, test, document and reassemble Unit 2 non-seg bus duct runs. With EBI’s experience, we were called to the job to perform the non-seg inspections as well as providing Exelon with the documentation of the as found and as left condition of the unit.

Scope

  • Open the non-seg bus duct and provide photographs and documentation of as-is findings.
  • Remove and repair any bus bars, duct, support, insulation, enclosures, covers and flexible connection links.
  • Perform as-found contact resistance testing and torque testing per Exelon procedures and provide a report of results.
  • Perform as-left contact resistance testing and torque testing per Exelon procedures and provide a report of results.
  • Re-insulate or replace the connection boots.
  • Re-install or replace bus duct covers with new EBI provided gasket and hardware.
