Summary:
EBI is proud to play a role in the return of the Crane Clean Energy Center to service, supporting the project with Isolated Phase Bus (IPB) duct supply, installation, and connection to the transformers. From getting the bus in place to making the critical connections that tie the electrical system together, our team is helping put the infrastructure in place for the plant’s next chapter. It’s exciting to see a facility with such a significant history moving toward a new future, and we’re proud to be part of it.
Scope of Work:
- For the main outside IPB and steel installation scope, EBI will set up the work area, inventory and inspect materials, and install EBI-supplied doghouses on the main GSU units.
- EBI will then install outdoor main IPB support steel, followed by setting and aligning the IPB sections.
- Welding activities will include conductor welds, enclosure cover welds, installation of shorting plates, and installation of a wall plate.
- Upon completion of installation, EBI will perform a final DC Hi-Pot acceptance test of the IPB in accordance with IEEE standards, install EBI-supplied braids at the main GSU, generator, and PT cabinet locations, and complete as-left DLRO and torque readings.
- All work areas will be maintained and cleaned throughout, with final cleanup and demobilization performed at project completion.
Electrical IPB systems represent one of the most critical connections in a generating station. Proper installation, welding, alignment, and testing are essential to plant performance and outage prevention.
This project demonstrates EBI’s ability to execute complex, system-critical infrastructure replacements safely and efficiently, combining fabrication, structural installation, certified welding, and electrical acceptance testing into a single coordinated scope. By delivering turnkey IPB replacement services, EBI helps power producers extend asset life, reduce operational risk, and maintain reliable generation capacity.
