Article Title: EBI Develops Safer, More Effective FME Cover

Electrical Builders, Inc. (EBI ®) has developed a new safety component to be used
during installation of Iso Phase bus systems. The Foreign Material Exclusion (FME)
cover, made of a fiberglass cloth and inserted into the bus system during installation
to prevent the entrance of foreign objects, is an improved version of the cover currently
used. This cover is easier to install, fits firmly into the bus duct creating a solid
seal, easy to transport and is reusable. Most importantly, it is fire-retardant and
non-combustible, creating a safer environment for workers.
According to Brian Warzecha, EBI® QA/QC Safety Coordinator and developer of the FME cover, the product solves an ongoing industry problem: "In the past we've used other FME covers and have had problems with them opening and letting foreign material into the bus system and sometimes causing fires. This new cover enables EBI personnel to get the job done quickly and safely and has been proven to be a positive enclosure for FME concerns." Warzecha further stresses the positive effects on management and employee support by stating that the new cover helps to "minimize safety concerns and is quicker and less cumbersome to install, saving labor hours. It looks better, which pleases our customers, and it has a positive seal-when it's in place, you know it's sealed. The reliability alleviates a problem we've been fighting for many years. It's also easy to transport in and out of potentially contaminated areas, further reducing the burden on workers."
